I have chosen to make a small edit to my front cover page. As you can see the first image shows the last edit I did to my front cover and the one below show the new up-to-date edit I did to my cover. The edit which I did to the front cover was that I placed some more color onto the block which holds the title of the magazine on it. I feel that without this edit the magazine cover doesn't look as professional as it could as now It looks as if i have placed the image on top of the block and that the image is more important than anything else on the cover as that is what takes up the largest amount of room rather than the text or other smaller images.

The making of My Contents Page...
Below are a selection of print screens which show how I have created, changed and adapted my contents page to create a contents page for my magazine which I am happy with. In some ways I have moved away from the original design of my mock-up but at the same time I have valid reasons for these changes. (Please click on the steps to see the images that go with this step).
Step 1 - As you can see from the first step I have chosen to place two half circles at the back of the magazine, the reason for this is so that the text and images are not just placed on a white page but the page has some designs of its own. The two shapes are two different colours to make one stand out against the other as they are overlapping each other to create a good design. I have placed the same type of text as the front cover on the contents page as well to show a consistent theme occurring and to show a font which the audience of the magazine can link to. For example if they see that type of font anywhere else then they would link it back to the magazine.
I have also have created an 'underline' for the word so that it doesn't look alone at any point. I have chosen to create an almost 'burn' look on the underline to make it different and not the same as normal lines as they would seem less amazing and wouldn't create the same reaction as this type of underline would create. Again i can use this as a link to the magazine like the font so that the audience become more familiar with the magazine and it's house style.
Step 2 - Here I am showing where the images and text boxes would be placed on the magazine contents page with the design behind it. As you can see for the most part you can't really see the top half circle as you can the second because the text box to the left is covering the top. However as the images might be larger than this I may have to move some of them around to try and fit all of the content in the text box as I don't want to make it to small.
Step 3 - As you can see I have placed the three images I have chosen on the magazine an as they are all different sizes I will have to cover more of the second larger circle. However I still feel that this works because it might have looked empty if you could see lots of the design rather then the audience feeling that the page is full but not to full. All three images have a black border which came with the images, I feel that this makes them look artificial and separates them slightly from the rest of the magazine as I wanted the images to not just be placed on the page but to work with the magazine contents page like they were the first thing on the page and everything else was worked around it.
Step 4 - Here I have moved the images so that they are slightly slanted and not in a line next to the side of the page like they were before. The reason for this is so that I don't have to have a large constantly and it doesn't look like I have just placed the images on the cover how they came and that's it. But I have taken away the borders and altered their shape, size and angle. I take taken away the black borders on the lower two images but kept in on the first to show it standing out against the two designs which it is placed on, however I have made the border much smaller so that it isn't so big and doesn't take up as much space as it did before. I have also created a caption text box next to the last image as it was on my original mock-up and feel that it would create a god link between the images and the content which will be placed on the left hand side of the page.
Step 5 - In this step all i have changed is putting text into the caption text box, however after moving it around a few times and changing the text I feel that i doesn't look right and the right hand side of the page should be for images only and the text should keep to the left hand side of the page.
Step 6 - In this step I have tried to place the amount of text I need in the left hand text box but however there was not enough room. To fix this I took away the second smaller text box at the bottom of the larger text box and just created a larger text box for the text to be placed in. I have made the images also smaller so that they don't overwhelm the page and so that the audiences eyes are not always drawn back to the images but they can easily look at the contents text and not have to look really hard to read it in a very small font but rather in a good sized font where all people can read it.
Additionally I have also added two titles in the text box to the left so that I can split up the amount of content i have to fit in this text box. As you can see I have now two sections, 'In this issue' and 'every issue'. This is so the audience can find their old favourites which they love to read in every issue (every issue) or read an article which caught their eyes on the cover of the magazine (in this issue). This is also so that I don't have to make a large amount of text look interesting as looking at a large amount of text puts some people off reading it. I have also added the underline s the same as the one on the title of the page so that it keeps with the theme of the magazine. To make the page more official I have also added a page number in the top right hand corner in a small black text box so that the audience don't have to just assume that this is the first page, but they know which page number this is and then they can link it to the content in the text box.
Step 7 - As you can see I have at last added the content into the texts boxes on the left hand side of the page and so have fit all of the text into that one box. While I did spend some time re-sizing the text to try and make it all fit in the end it did and I now can see how it would look with the text in the boxes.
Step 8 - This is the last and final step for creating my magazine contents page. As you can see I have changed the colour of four of the pages to show that they are different than the rest of the articles in the magazine. The difference between them is that the articles highlighted in pink appear on the front cover. The reason that I have not stated this or instead wrote 'this article is on the cover page' is because first I thought that it was not necessary for that text to also be in the box. Second I wouldn't have enough room for my text to stay in the box and lastly because it shows that because people whom are reading this magazine again and again would know this and so it shows the familiarity between the magazine and its readers.

Another edit for an image for my contents page...
As you can see the first image was the original that I took, I have edited the image to look as an album cover as I feel that this would be better suited for the contents page rather than an image which I had picked before.
Another edit for my front cover...
After much thought I have chosen to create some edits on the cover of my magazine. I will show the original version and then the edited version that I created and the reasoning behind it.
The original version below
The edited version below
As you can see the alterations I have created are the colors all matching up together because before there were a few differences in the colors These color alterations were on the bar at the bottom the lines dividing the sell lines along the left side, and to complement the title (which i changed the font of to make it seem more real), I added a box behind the title to make the text seem more bold and stand out to the audience.

Images I might want to use in my contents page edited...
I have chosen to place about 3-4 images on my contents page, one including
of myself to show whom the editor of the magazine is, this is something that
many magazine's do to try and create a relationship with its readers and this
is what I am planning and trying to do.
My first image I edited was the one of myself which will be placed under my personal message, something which wasn’t on my mock-up but I feel would be good to include to create a relationship with the readers.

The second image that I plan to place on my magazine is the one of 'April' the femal artist whom also appears on the front cover in the form of a poster.

Making of my Front Cover...
Below is a series of Print Screens to show how I have developed my front cover and how I have changed and adapted my ideas to make my cover different in some ways to the mock-up I created first of all.
Step 1 - As you can see I have chosen my photograph from the selection of images I took in my photo shoot and have placed it where I wanted to image to be placed along with my header. However after looking again at some other magazines which are being created and some other magazines of my genre and others and saw that the skyline was always above the header and was better suited above their than under it.
Step 2 - After my first step I looked over my cover and decided to enlarge the header and to place the main image lower on the page to make room for more text and to enlarge the type of text that I wanted to place on the cover. I have also added the skyline onto the top of the cover with text in, the text shows some of the band names which will be in the magazine and link to the contents page. I have also chosen to place the anchorage text on the image rather than to the side with the other sell lines, the reason for this is because I will be able to place more sell lines to the side if the anchorage text is not in the way. This type of thing is also done in many other magazines to show that importance of the main image and main artificial by using the words 'Exclusive Interview; shows that this magazine has facts and things which other magazines don't because the interview is 'exclusive'.
Step 3 - I have chosen to place the name of the band on top of the image but I wanted it in a different font rather than just the normal type which the rest of the sell lines are in. I have chosen to go for a font which I have also used on one of the posters I mocked up, 'Bleeding Cowboy'. As I liked the idea of the red and the black font I decided to try and overlap the two fonts to see if they would work together and if they looked better red on black or black on red. after a lot of thought I picked the font with black on red as I feel that it shows the name of the band better than it would if it was red on black. This text will go above the box with the words 'Exclusive Interview' on the image as well to show who the people in the image are and what the artificial is also about.
Step 4 - (While I was saving the images to my desktop on my laptop my laptop crashed leaving me with only a few of the images that I kept as I created my cover. So I have pointed to the sections that I am going to talk about in each step). As you can see in this step I have placed the 'New Dawn' title on image, it links in very well with the colours of the text and the text boxes around it. For example the image behind of the band members shows one of the members in a blue, red and white check shirt while the other is in a black, red and grey check shirt. This links in with the reasoning for the colours of the text which are placed above the images. With the images being highlighted well with the text above it brings out the red of the band showing that they are important and also ready to be big stars and not wanting to hide in the background, all of this under the mise en scene of the image and text linking.
I moved the original location of the 'puff' from being at the bottom of the page on the right to high on the right side next to the main image. The reason for this change is because of the fact that I feel it would capture the audiences eyes more than it would if it was located near the bottom. As this puff has a direct link to the main image I have chosen to place to close to the image to show the link. I have chosen to use a small + sign as my little image for my puff rather than a large image that could be located next to the text or even behind it backing up the text in a range of ways. The + sign, also known as a plus sign links to the word 'PLUS' which was the first word I used in the text for my puff adding to the effect of it being something extra, something that the audiences should be happy and existed about in a range of ways. I have chosen to use the colours, red (or a deep orange) and black, the reasoning behind this, and the reasoning behind why I drifted from keeping to the pink and white colours is because the red I feel stands out more and after trying to magazine with both of the colours I feel that the red and black complement each other more than the pink and white would if they were placed on this type of magazine cover.
Lastly after looking again at some of the other magazine covers which were being created and had been created by pass years I saw that some of them had a issue number for the magazine and also the date for when the magazine was being published. This links in with the magazine seeming more real and also that this magazine company is very popular as the numbers are already all the way up to 188.
Step 5 - (Please click on the words 'Step 5' to follow the link to my step 5 of my magazine cover).
As you can see I have added an extra sell line to the left hand side of the place of the anchorage to fill up the space and to inform the audience of more articles which are located inside the magazine. I have chosen to place the main words from the sell lines in a red/deep orange colour to show the importance of it next to the rest of the sell line which is just in black. the two middle sell lines I have included artists names and placed their names in this second colour because if a viewer saw an artists that they really liked they are more likely to purchase that magazine than they would if they just found only a few of the stories on offer interesting. For the other two sell lines located at the top and bottom of the line of sell lines I have chosen to place the words that are in the second colour also in capitals to show their importance even more. For example 'FREE' is a second coloured word and in capitals because of the fact that the word free, in any shape or form attracts people because of what it is advertising. Meaning that because it is large and attracts viewers eyes it will make viewers purchase the magazine more than they would if it wasn't in capitals.
Step 6 - This is the last step in creating my magazine cover. (Please click on the words 'Step 6' to follow the link to an image of my magazine cover finished fully). As you can see from the image I have finished with I have kept to the mock-up I created by placing the posters at the bottom of the page running along the bottom next to each other. However I have chosen to place a third poster at the bottom of the page to fill up a gap which I had created from moving up my sell lines, I am happy that i did this thou because I feel that because I have a difference in images, one being of another type of artist whom appears in the magazine and also in another of the sell lines and the other two posters of the main image band whom are the main articles on the double page spread. The posters being located next to the bottom sell line show the link as the bottom sell line talks of 'FREE posters inside!', by having these located next to each other it shows the types of posters which would be included and shows that there may be some more posters if the viewer was to purchase the magazine. I have added a bar code in the same spot where I picked when creating my mock-up, the only difference is that I felt that the bar code should be positioned to the side rather that straight as it needed more room and the bottom of the magazine didn't look as squashed and all moved together just to fill up some empty space.
However I then had an empty space behind the posters and the bar codes which was just a plain empty space, and so I placed a red and black bar along the bottom to just cover up the empty space and to show that the magazine cover was finished and ready to be 'purchased'.
Step 1 - As you can see I have chosen my photograph from the selection of images I took in my photo shoot and have placed it where I wanted to image to be placed along with my header.
